JDM Civil Group delivered a comprehensive civil and streetscape upgrade at 55 Smith Street, Charlestown, with works valued at $180K. The project included earthworks, new concrete footpaths, driveway laybacks, kerb and gutter construction, asphalt resurfacing, landscaping, turf installation, and street tree planting to improve both functionality and street appeal.
Working within a live traffic environment, the project required careful traffic management and staged construction to maintain safe access for residents, pedestrians, and surrounding properties throughout the works. JDM Civil Group coordinated closely with other trades on site to ensure efficient delivery within a constrained timeframe while minimising disruption to the public.
All works were completed in accordance with local government engineering standards and guidelines, with practical solutions implemented to address existing site infrastructure challenges. The finished result delivered a safer, more functional, and visually improved streetscape for the Charlestown community.
Deakin Street Kurri

JDM Civil Group delivered a $290K civil infrastructure project at 96 Deakin Street, encompassing bulk and detailed earthworks, stormwater infrastructure, utility coordination, and concrete construction works. The project included installation of stormwater pipework ranging from 100mm PVC through to 375mm reinforced concrete pipes, construction of four on-site detention (OSD) tanks, approximately 290m² of concrete driveway, and new kerb and gutter works.
The project also required close coordination with service authorities to deliver essential infrastructure, including electrical, NBN, water main, and sewer services, ensuring seamless integration across the site. Working within a constrained environment, JDM Civil Group maintained strict compliance with approved drawings, engineering requirements, and local authority standards throughout the delivery process.
A key challenge involved the installation of a deep 375mm stormwater line adjacent to neighbouring property boundaries, requiring controlled excavation methods and careful risk management to protect surrounding structures. Through proactive planning, strong site coordination, and a focus on safety and quality, JDM Civil Group successfully delivered the project efficiently while maintaining stakeholder confidence and minimising disruption to nearby properties.
Clean Era facility, Mount Thorley

2025 was a milestone year for JDM Civil Group, delivering a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects across the Hunter region. From kerb and gutter upgrades and pavement remediation through to large scale earthworks and stormwater infrastructure, the team continued to provide reliable end-to-end civil solutions tailored to each project’s requirements.
Key projects completed throughout the year included public road upgrades in East Branxton, civil works for the new Clean Era Facility at Mount Thorley, and pavement remediation works at Elbrook Drive, Rankin Park. These projects showcased JDM Civil Group’s capability in delivering complex works involving drainage, pavement construction, stormwater systems, and site preparation while maintaining quality, efficiency, and strong stakeholder coordination.

Dalwood Road - Road Shoulder Construction

JDM Civil Group delivered public road upgrades for a 1-into-2 lot subdivision, including kerb and gutter installation, subsoil drainage and pavement works. The project required a fast turnaround and careful coordination due to the site’s busy roadway and challenging ground conditions.
The team completed a full civil package and incorporated recycled road base materials, ensuring quality and sustainability. Works were delivered on time and supported by ANA Asphalts, who provided a professional two-coat seal finish.

Elbrook Drive - Pavement Remediation Works

JDM Civil Group delivered pavement remediation works on a privately owned access lane off Elbrook Drive, Rankin Park. The project involved reconstructing failed pavement, improving subsoil drainage, and preparing a fully conforming surface ready for final asphalting. The site had been affected by pavement failure for more than five years, making accuracy and stakeholder coordination essential.
The team used cement-stabilised gravel and UTS-guided machinery to achieve millimetre-perfect levels, supported by Stratum Consulting Engineers and Centurion Survey. Residents now benefit from a reliable, long-term pavement surface.

Hillcrest Lochinvar - Residential Subdivision

JDM Civil Group was engaged to complete the remaining works for a 74-lot subdivision at Hillcrest Lochinvar after a previous contractor was unable to finish the project. The team delivered earthworks rectification, pavement repairs, drainage installations, and management of subcontractors, all within a high-pressure stakeholder environment.
Clear communication, transparency and structured progress meetings were key to re-establishing trust and ensuring the subdivision met its revised completion date of 30 June 2024. Fulton Hogan supported the project by delivering the asphalt package at short notice.

Sweetwater Winery - Roadway & Drainage Reconstruction

JDM Civil Group completed roadway reconstruction and stormwater drainage installation at Sweetwater Winery for Iris Capital. The works restored heavily eroded access roads and introduced a tailored drainage system designed to prevent future erosion and protect vital infrastructure.
The project required careful excavation due to multiple unknown underground services, prompting precise planning and coordination. Recycled road base materials were used throughout to support sustainability goals. Roadways were rebuilt to a higher standard, drainage was tested successfully during early rainfall, and the site now enjoys safer, more durable access for visitors and staff.
